jev-router

dirien/jev-router

Local pass-through router that picks a model tier per human turn with Jev.

Classification & Routing1.00Runner-up: Verification & Guardrails
Automated README summary

Automatically summarized from the README on 25 Sept 2026; not a run by jevbooks. Run instructions and author-reported outcomes still need verification.

What it is

A local proxy for Claude Code and Codex CLI on macOS or Linux. It forwards each request to a fast, balanced, frontier or max model tier chosen for the turn, streaming responses back unchanged.

How it uses Jev

On each new human message, the router asks Jev which tier the work needs, using the session state. The answer selects the upstream model; within a session the router only moves up. Jev also flags messages that would change production systems, credentials, permissions or billing, which go to the top tier.

Primitives:choice

Technique worth stealing

Decide the model tier only when a person writes, and only escalate within a session, to protect the per-model prompt cache.

Model judgments from README excerpts

Project signals use repository metadata, an existing summary and the first 700 README characters, not the full project. “Not found” means not detected in that material; it does not establish absence. These are the original judgments with recorded models and dates, not source audits or run results.

Evidence

These signals use repository metadata, an existing summary and at most 700 cleaned README characters. ≥ 0.60 means reported in that excerpt; ≤ 0.40 means not found there. The middle band is inconclusive. None is a source-code audit or a test result. The runnable-tool question excludes research experiments; the recommendation question asks for a learning shortlist, not a quality verdict.
