Score an AI agent's history: keep, drop, or summarize.

Automated README summary

Automatically summarized from the README on 1 Oct 2026; not a run by jevbooks. Run instructions and author-reported outcomes still need verification.

What it is

ctxjev scores an AI agent's conversation history and decides what to keep, drop, or summarize. It ships as a CLI, a TypeScript library, an MCP server, and a Claude Code plugin, and runs offline by default.

How it uses Jev

Jev is an opt-in scorer (`--scorer jev`, `scorer: 'jev'`, `CTXJEV_SCORER=jev`) that judges each entry's relevance to the goal. It needs `TYPESAFE_API_KEY`; secret masking runs before anything is sent. Results become keep/drop/summarize decisions used by `pruneMessages()` and `pruneContext()`.

Primitives:choicescore

Technique worth stealing

Pruning keeps a request valid: a `tool_use` and its `tool_result` are removed together, and the first message and latest turn are protected.

Try it

npm install -g ctxjev-cli, then ctxjev analyze checkout-bug.json

Model judgments from README excerpts

Project signals use repository metadata, an existing summary and the first 700 README characters, not the full project. “Not found” means not detected in that material; it does not establish absence. These are the original judgments with recorded models and dates, not source audits or run results.

Evidence

These signals use repository metadata, an existing summary and at most 700 cleaned README characters. ≥ 0.60 means reported in that excerpt; ≤ 0.40 means not found there. The middle band is inconclusive. None is a source-code audit or a test result. The runnable-tool question excludes research experiments; the recommendation question asks for a learning shortlist, not a quality verdict.
